Hendra Setiawan Boen

Hendra Setiawan Boen is the Co-Founder, Principal, Managing Partner, and Head of both the Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property Practice Groups of the firm. He earned his law degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Trisakti and has been practicing since 2005. Hendra is a registered Receiver and Administrator for Bankruptcy with the Ikatan Kurator dan Pengurus Indonesia (IKAPI), as well as a certified Liquidator, Tax Attorney, Accredited Mediator, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb). Notably, he served as Legal Team Coordinator for President Joko Widodo’s 2019 re-election campaign.

Before co-founding the firm, Hendra built a distinguished career as a partner at a prominent litigation practice and as counsel with one of Indonesia’s pioneering first-tier corporate firms in capital markets. He later joined a leading litigation firm, where he successfully handled complex, high-stakes disputes spanning corporate and intellectual property litigation. Beyond practice, Hendra is a prolific writer, contributing articles to leading national media and authoring several books, including Bianglala Business Judgment Rule, Jejak Langkah Seorang Advokat, and Echoes of Empire.

His work and thought leadership have been featured widely in both domestic and international media, including Bisnis Indonesia, Katadata, Kontan, Tempo, Beritasatu, Hukumonline, SindoNews, Detik, Media Indonesia, MetroTV, CNN Indonesia, VOA Indonesia, Malay Mail, The Sun Daily, and The Star. In recognition of his achievements, Hendra was named one of Indonesia’s Rising Star Lawyers by Asian Legal Business Magazine in 2020, and the following year was honored in its prestigious “Asia 40 Under 40” list. He has also been regularly recognized by Hukumonline as a Practice Leader and inducted into its Hall of Fame – Top Indonesian Law Schools.
